In Situ Lineboring

The Lineboring process involves setting up a solid cutting bar through the centre of the worn hole and then attaching bearings to the job to support the cutting bar, after that the worn hole will be machined out to a slightly larger size to obtain a clean metal surface for the welding process to begin.

Once the cutting bar is removed the mig borewelder is installed and the welding process begins with the automatic borewelder laying continuous runs of weld inside the hole building up the internal hole size until the desired diameter is achieved, then the cutting bar is re-installed and the welded up hole is then machined back out to the original size and tolerance ready for the new parts to be installed.

There’s no need to face massive machine downtimes and expensive dismantling, when Ausweld Lineboring will come to you.
